Students of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Art and Design met with Illustrator Ertaç Altınöz as part of career meetings. In the interview held, Altınöz shared both his artistic journey and his experiences regarding the production process with the students.
Throughout the event, the artist explained how he developed his drawing practice by showing examples of his own works. Emphasizing the importance of disciplined work and continuing to produce, Altınöz gave noteworthy advice to young designers.
Altınöz, stating that competition has increased today and artificial intelligence tools are also included in production processes, expressed that the most important way to stand out in this environment is to “be visible.” He suggested that students be active on social media, produce regular content, and not hesitate to share their work.
The artist, stating that one should not be afraid of making mistakes, gave the message, “You develop as you produce. Have the courage to show the work you do. Be patient; even if you cannot gain in the short term, you will receive the reward for your efforts in the long term.”
Additionally, reminding young artists that they should determine the value of their own efforts, Altınöz emphasized that they should not remain in conditions they do not think they deserve.
The interview ended with an interactive section where students asked the questions they were curious about. The event was considered both an inspiring and a guiding meeting for the participants.
